The galloping sound coming from his chest was deafening his ears as the adrenaline flooded his whole body. His neck veins were engorged to the point where a scratch could have blown them up. He stood there tensed up with his my eyes wandering around. The breaths were running faster than his watch as heI saw the time running out. Before his my mind could even become aware of what was happening, a spear tore through his my chest. A loud thump and his body lurked into darkness, darkness of a nightmare.
This morning wasn’t the same. He found himself struggling to open his eyes against the weight of memories from last few months. To capture enough strength to get himself up seemed like an impregnable ordeal. He didn’t hear any birds chirping and the skies were still dark. The galloping sound from his chest had vanished. But something was undoubtedly audible, the showers of rain that were plunging the earth without mercy. The ghastly clouds seemed determined to not let the sunshine make its way down. Something powerful but invisible was pulling him to step out in this dreary morning. He dragged his feet through the waterlogged grounds into the woods. Even the trees looked gloomy and leaves were faced down. Thunders exploded and loads of water poured down making him think if it was the nature wreaking havoc or were the Gods crying. Not a single flower was blossoming or any squirrels hopping around. He wasn’t sure if the trees were in pain from being thrawled by the rain or were they bending down in solace for him. The baleful silence except the raging waters and thunders was daunting him to death. The path that lay ahead was engulfing him deeper and deeper as flashing memories from the last few days blinded him. A sharp ache rendered him motionless as he heard a feeble squeak while stepping on to something, something that was soft and trembled. He bent down to pick it up and there it lay on his bare hands, torn into pieces and blood bathed……..It was his Heart.
