When she took the train.......

Even the cruel December cold could not stifle the exuberant warmth that filled his heart that day. The day that marked the commencement of a journey; a journey of promises, a journey of optimism , a journey of assurances, a journey of faith, a journey of deception, a journey of hope, a journey of happiness, a journey with hardships, a journey through the mountains of fears and valleys of sorrow, a journey of loyalty, a journey of mistakes, a journey of forgiveness, a journey of censure, a journey of blessings, a journey cursed, a journey of love, a journey not easy, a journey not impossible, a journey to be shared but a journey that ended alone……That was the day when she took the train.

She boarded it with a myriad of dreams, dreams of being loved and desired, dreams of the first encounter and the train of pounding heart beats took off. It was a long journey but she was cherishing it. Never did she know few weeks ago that a first conversation that she had half heartedly could have swept her off in such a short time. A thirty year old vision of love seemed to be dawning on her. Memories of past few days had flooded her brain with the tsunami of hope and desire. With each thrust of the train, she drew closer to the horizon, the horizon where she would quench her thirst. But something evil lurked around her in the darkness that she could not see through. Her small world of glory was going to be imperiled with hate and anger.

The sun was the brightest on that day for him. A hidden smile haunted his expressions all day. The blush was obvious to everyone too. He had always had difficulty concealing the joy as opposed to sorrow for which even an eyelash was good enough. But today was not the day sorrow could get around to him. Years of loneliness melted away in that warmth. His heart beats danced to the tune of the whistle, the whistle from the train that carried his treasure, the treasure that he would be robbed off soon. Unaware, he carried on with the celebrations. He laid down the carpet of his love from the station to his home, the path that he fantasized to share with her. Each moment of the passing journey tendered their hearts into the abyss world of togetherness. As their love grew stronger, so did the passion for the devil. Soon the train approached the dark tunnel, the tunnel that was going to pen down another history.

He stumbled in that darkness, perhaps what he wasn’t supposed to do but gathered himself only to his own relief. That moment could have snatched everything away from him; he didn’t know about it but was hopeful. He waited on the station with the same warmth and love that had sparked the flame inside him, but the flame was not bright enough for her to see through his heart or maybe was dimmed by the evil. His eager eyes watched in exhilaration as the train stopped and she walked to the door. But then she stopped there with both staring at each other and trying to talk through the optic nerves. Her eyes and heart seemed to be in dyssynchrony. Before he even could guess, he saw the jolt of the train making her take her eyes off of him. Shocked and dismayed, he extended his hand to her as his feet started to run besides the train. She looked at him for the last time and backed off inside the train. He ran until he could, even being unsure if that last stare from her carried any love. He wondered about the promises he heard from her, wondered about the courage that he thought love had over all hell and heaven. The train left the station with her and without him, another victory to devil or another deception?
